Well, that's another year gone already! Flown by as
normal. It's been a while since I have updated my blog
so I thought it about time I write an update of my goings
Firstly and most importantly I would like to say a HUGE THANKS to my sponsors for this year…RAZORBLADES2U.COM and IAN BROWNS CYCLE SHOP! What great support they have both been to me throughout the season, which has made my life easier and helped me to focus on the job in hand! Also a BIG thanks to the Guernsey Sports Commission as well for their help and support.
I am already on the lookout for sponsors for the 2012 season and beyond so if you are interested in supporting me please get in touch by clicking "Contact" above!
So what have I been up to since the end of the season? After moving out of the house in York, I went home (Guernsey) for a few months and took a few weeks off the bike, chilling and generally enjoying the fact that I didn't have to ride everyday. Strangely enough I kept riding a bit... swopping skinny tyres for fatter ones and finding my love for mountain biking again. I also managed a bit of surfing.
I also worked a couple of days a week at Ian Browns Cycle Shop, which I always enjoy and strangely doesn't really feel like work. (Not that I don't work hard whilst there...I think!) Whilst I was doing all this I was busy trying to sort out a contract for the 2012 season, which I am happy to say worked out well. I will be riding for Team Raleigh for 2012 and am really looking forward to it. The team have some very ambitious plans for the coming years and have signed some strong riders from all over the World to back up their ambition. I can't wait to get going!
Fast forward a few weeks and what am I up to now…Well, I have jumped ship, well Islands. In mid December I jumped from one rock to a larger one further south with a warmer climate! I'm now in Lanzarote and training hard for the coming season. I spent Christmas with family and friends who were also over here which was nice. I have done the odd few days of surfing as well to keep things mixed up as its a change from being on the bike everyday... a nice way to refresh the batteries.
I am likely to be here for a few more weeks until mid January before I head to Nottingham to meet my new team mates and have a second Xmas picking up all my bits and bobs ready for the 2012 season to start!
That's about it for now. As I did this year I will try and update the site regularly, more so when racing gets underway and there is plenty to write about.
Thanks for reading. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and have a successful 2012...
